Phoenix College offers an associate degree or transfer courses in psychology, while South Mountain Community College offers transfer courses in behavioral health science.

Psychology-related occupations are experiencing robust growth in the Phoenix area, according to projections through 2012. Postsecondary psychology teachers can expect growth of 37%. Jobs for clinical, counseling and school psychologists are forecast to increase by 37%, and for industrial-organizational psychologists by 26%. Community and social services occupations, which include many psychology-related fields, are expected to grow by 34% overall, including increases of 31% for marriage and family therapists; 39% for substance abuse and behavioral disorder counselors; 23% for educational, vocational and school counselors; and 40% for both mental health counselors and rehabilitation counselors.
