Why Phoenix is a Great Place to Study Performing Arts
In mythology, a Phoenix is a bird that can be reborn out of ashes – apropos imagery for a performing arts scene born in the desert. Starting with three new facilities located in downtown Phoenix, the performing arts community in Phoenix, Arizona, has set its sights on becoming a leader in the Southwest. Its Symphony Hall, Orpheum Theatre and Herberger Theater Center, along with numerous smaller performing arts venues throughout the city, seat over half a million people a year.
